5th Grade Oyster Reef Ball Project
Calling all volunteers! Grade 5 has a unique opportunity to work with the Coastal Conservation Association in making a difference in the health of our Chesapeake Bay. Students will be engaged in learning about the role of oysters in preserving our bay and participate in the building of oyster reef balls that will be installed in our bay as a habitat for oysters.  This is a 2-day project expanding over April 9th and 11th (weather dependent). The schedule is outlined in the attached flyer. Any time you can offer to assist with this grand endeavor would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

April is Mathematics Awareness Month!
This month marks a time to increase the understanding and appreciation of mathematics.  Teachers will be sending home a math BINGO card on Thursday, April 5th, that consists of a variety of activities that engage students in mathematics at home.  The activities are designed to show how math is used every day.  A parent a guardian needs to sign off on each box a student completes.  Students should return their BINGO cards on April 30th.  For every BINGO a student completes, his/her name will be entered into a drawing to win a prize!  (If they complete the entire card, their name will be entered 12 times.  If they complete 1 Bingo, their name will be entered 1 time). There will be one prize per grade level.  We are excited for the students at FRES to participate!
