FRES Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
Our mission is to work collaboratively in order to create a positive environment, using behavioral techniques that will bring about greater success for all students, staff and community.
This is how we show F-R-E-S!
FOCUS - pay particular attention to what I need to accomplish!
RESPECT- putting yourself in someone else's shoes and behave in a way that shows you care
EFFORT - something done through hard work
SAFETY- protecting myself and those around me
When students show FRES they are rewarded! At FRES we focus on TEACHING start behaviors . . . 1-2-3 Magic!
With PBIS . . .Everyone’s a Winner! Each week students are celebrated
Student Winners: 1 student per grade
Staff Winner: 1 staff member per grade
Class Winners: 1 class who earned the most stars during lunch (a star can be earned by showing F-R-E-S in the cafeteria)
Gold Awards - The third and highest level of PBIS Maryland recognition is the PBIS Maryland Gold Recognition Award and will only be awarded to those schools that are demonstrating sustainability for the systems, practices, and data utilization for school-wide PBIS and can demonstrate that their implementation has had positive effects on both their discipline and achievement data for at least two years.
