Dear FRES families,
Happy New Year! We are excited to see everyone back at school. Winter break was a wonderful time spent with family and friends. We hope everyone had a safe and fun winter break. We look forward to setting new goals with our students for the academic year ahead. The possibilities for the year 2019 are endless! We continue to remind every student to demonstrate FRES behaviors (Focus, Respect, Effort, Safety).
Our students say the FRES Pledge every morning. You can also help by reviewing the pledge with your child at home.
FRES Pledge:
I will make the most of this day,
no matter what comes my way.
I'm here to learn,
To grow and explore,
So like an eagle I will soar.
F-R-E-S will be my guide,
and fill me with a sense of pride.
I will not quit,
I will not rest,
Until I can be my very best!!
Attention FRES 5th Grade Families,
Happy New Year! It is time for the families of FRES 5th Grade students to begin the planning process for the transition of your children to middle school! On Friday January 4, 2019, your child will bring home important paperwork describing options for participation in music classes in middle school (chorus, band, and strings). This is important because your child's choices will drive other aspects of scheduling. You will find a course selection letter from Patuxent Valley Middle School attached to the form. Please also note that the required due date for the return of this document to Forest Ridge is January 18, 2019.
In order to assist families with the transition from elementary school to middle school, PVMS is holding a parent orientation meeting on January 17 at 6:30 at PVMS.
