Forest Ridge Elementary is excited to welcome the new year! My resolution was to do one kind anonymous thing a day (paying it forward, or leaving someone a compliment- kind words are free!). While keeping resolutions in mind, one of the hardest things about committing is sticking with it! This month, we will continue teaching about perseverance. As a parent, it is important to acknowledge when you make a mistake, while your child is present. Take ownership while showing that you can learn from it. In counseling lessons, we will continue learning about making mistakes (K, 1, & 2) controlling our anger (3), using CLUES (Calm down, listen to others, use your words, explore possible solutions, set it into action) to solve problems (4), and finding out more about how our learning style can affect our brain and the way we process information (5).
