From our Administrators

Dear FRES Community,

Today is the last day of our third marking period! It is hard to believe that we are entering our final few months of the 2021-22 school year.  Schools dismissed three hours early today to provide time for teachers to prepare report cards.  Report cards will be available on Synergy on Friday, April 8.

Ramadan Alternative Lunch Activity
With Ramadan beginning on the evening of Friday, April 1st this year, we want to make families aware that the school can provide an alternate location during your child's lunch period.  Any students who are fasting may request an alternative activity during their lunch period.  Please send an email to your child’s homeroom teacher if you would like to request an alternate location.

A Big "Thank You!!
Thank you to all the FRES families who participated in our Chick-fil-A Spirit Day.  We were able to raise $367.05 to benefit our positive behavior initiatives at FRES!

HCPSS Chromebooks
Thank you to all of our FRES families for returning HCPSS Chromebooks to school for use in the classroom.  These devices will remain in school for your child to use for instruction until further notice.  All devices need to be returned with the charging cable.  If your child has not yet returned the charging cable, the homeroom teacher will continue to remind your child until the cord is returned. For further detail concerning Chromebook use, responsibilities, and repair/replacement, please visit this link: HCPSS Technology and Devices.

Learning Together Program
The Forest Ridge Regional Early Childhood Center (RECC) Pre-Kindergarten programs are preparing for classes for the 2022-2023 school year.  These classes include children with and without disabilities.  The program’s focus is helping all children develop communication, literacy, math, problem solving, motor, and social skills.   Parents of children who will be 3 by September 1st or are already 4 may learn more about the program by reviewing the Learning Together Program (LTP) Flyer (English).  Applications are now being accepted and priority will be given to applications received by April 1st.

We will find out how many classes we will have next year by June 10th.  Families will be notified by June 15th as to whether there is room at Forest Ridge or if their child may need to attend a neighboring school.

From the PTA...

Subject: Attention 5th Graders! It's yearbook time.

Fifth graders, we need your help with the yearbook!   Every year the fifth graders are invited to design the cover of the yearbook, and participate in the baby photo gallery & dedications sections.

1. Yearbook Cover Art Contest: Get creative!
We encourage 5th graders to submit their own artwork to be used for the front and/or back covers of the yearbook, see the attached flyer for instructions! Covers are designed by 5th grade students only. Please note with any back cover entries, do not write inside the "22" as it will contain student signatures.

All completed art should be submitted to the front office by Friday, April 22, 2022. Submissions can also be emailed to fresyearbook@hcpss.org

A winner will be selected at the April PTA meeting.

2. Baby Picture Gallery: Stroll down memory lane!
Each year 5th grade students are invited to participate in a Baby Picture Gallery!  If you would like to submit a baby picture (kindergarden or younger) of your 5th grader, please email photos to fresyearbook@hcpss.org. Please format your submission so that it shows your child's face clearly in a 1 inch by 1 inch square. Your submission must include the student's name. This section is voluntary and absolutely free. Submissions are due by April 30, 2022.

3. Dedications: Send a special message!
Family and friends can send their 5th grader a message wishing them success in middle school!  This section normally has a fee to help offset the cost of the yearbook, however, this year we are offering a free 25 word dedication. Space is limited, only the first 50 submissions will be accepted!  Please send submissions to fresyearbook@hcpss.org. Submissions are due by April 30, 2022.
