Forest Ridge News and Events

"Choose Civility" in the Car Loop
"This is taking way too long!!  I need to get to work!"
"Why can't I go around the car in front of me?"
"You need to do a better job with the flow of traffic!"

Parents, we need your help.  Our car loop is very busy in the morning and in the afternoon.  Safety is our number one concern.   Please follow the directions of staff and obey the signs.  There is never a need to be rude or impatient.  If you are finding that it is taking too long, please arrive earlier.  The students can be dropped off as early as 8:55 and wait until the bell rings at 9:00.  Remember, if you live less than a mile from school and have sidewalks, your child should walk to school.  If you live in a bussed area, consider having your child ride the bus to school.  We are all in this together, and our ultimate concern is for the safety of all.

Recess Items:

  • We are in need of new and gently used recess games for indoor recess days.
  • Children go out for recess if the temperature combined with the wind chill is above 20 degrees.  Please make sure they are wearing appropriate clothing and outerwear.
Parents of 5th Grade Students:
As we prepare our students for transition to middle school, we ask that you contact the front office for any of the following reasons:
  • Moving to a new residence, HCPSS or other school zone
  • Your student will be transitioning to a school other than Patuxent Valley Middle School

We are currently working with PVMS to prepare student schedules and student files are under review for transfer to PVMS.  Notifying us of any changes will help our staff, the PVMS staff and you, with your transition.  If you have any questions, please call our Registrar, Rhonda Hill, at 410-880-5950.
