Young Author's Contest
We are excited about the phenomenal writers at FRES. This year we had 17 students in grade 2- 5 participate in the Young Author’s Contest (YAC). Students wrote original poems and/ or stories. We proudly announce the following participants:

Middle School Transition Meeting
As part of the ES to MS transition, Patuxent Valley Middle will be holding a Parent Information Night at PVMS for incoming 6th grade students on January 19 at 6:30, with a snow date of February 1 (note new snow date).  This meeting will include general information about the school as well as the 6th grade program of study.  For parents who are interested in the GT program, there will be a presentation at 5:45 pm.

Want to learn chess in a fun, engaging and interactive way? Minecraft Programming After School with C3 Cyber Club
Looking for a fun way to learn programming? How about using a game you love. Using a custom mod called "Computercraft," learn how to program robots called "turtles" inside the world of Minecraft. Use problem-solving skills by learning how to program your robot to complete various tasks and objectives such as programming turtles to automatically build, mine and craft items and structures. Learn to program if-then-else statements, for while loops, and implement their own functions using LUA, a simple scripting language. (No class 2/20.)
