From Mrs. DeOrio
Thank you to everyone who contributed to Mrs. De Orio's first Donor's Choose project "Violas for Young Violists." The project has been fully funded, so in the next few weeks Donor's Choose will be delivering two new violas to Forest Ridge Elementary. This first project was fully funded very quickly, so if you didn't have the opportunity to donate you can be on the lookout for our next project, or can donate a gift card on the Donor's Choose page by searching for "Mrs. De Orio", which will be applied to the next project. Remember to use the code "LIFTOFF" and your donation will be matched (up to $50) for the next few days. Thanks again for all of your support of the music program!!!

PTA News...

From the PTA President

Fall is definitely in the air this week!  The cool air of the week has been quite a blessing compared to the hot summer days. Thank you to all who came out to the PTA meeting on Tuesday night. There was such a GREAT turnout, and there was so much positive energy in the room. We had so much to discuss with the beginning of the year. Thank you all for sticking around to hear all the exciting things happening.

Good News for the FRES Playground
Our playground will finally be getting shade!! After many years and much stress, our FRES playground will finally be getting its shade.  Our shade structure was approved by HCPSS, and we are now in the process of purchasing it from the company.  We will keep you posted on the progress.

From the Halloween Event Committee:
Mark your calendar for the 4th annual FRES Halloween event, on Saturday, October 29th! This is an event that our FRES students (and parents too) look forward to and enjoy very much. We are looking for volunteers to help with the planning of the event, and to help out with the many many activties that night. A Sign-Up Genius will be sent out shortly, so please be on the look out for that announcement. If you enjoy dressing up in costume with your kids and all those halloween decorations, come join our planning committee. Our next planning committee meeting is Tuesday, October 11th, 7pm to 8:30pm. This is a big event hosted and organized by the PTA, so we would appreciate your help in making it a success! Please contact Penny Keller, at VP1@frespta.org, or Amanda Fields, at fresptamomma@yahoo.com, if you are interested in helping or have questions.
