Dear FRES Community,
First and foremost, we hope that everyone in your family is safe and healthy. Our staff this week has been busy learning, meeting, and preparing for when our students return in a couple of weeks. Today’s Forerunner has a lot of important information, please ensure you read through it all carefully.
Mr. Conroy and Ms. Pazornik
Student Device Distribution
Thank you to everyone who has filled out the survey form. We are down to less than 20 students who have not completed the form. Staff members were calling families today to complete the process.
Families who requested a device, either through the survey or directly from a staff member or interpreter, will be emailed directly with details on where and when devices can be picked up. Families who have not yet completed the Student Technology Survey are still encouraged to do so. Please be assured that our process for deploying devices follows social distancing guidelines to assure health and safety for families and staff. More information about student devices is provided online.
As a reminder, students will not need their device until April 20th, when on-line learning begins for elementary students.
Families who do not have internet access may be eligible to participate in the Comcast Internet Essentials program.
Free Grab-N-Go Meals
HCPSS is providing free Grab-N-Go meals through April 24 to anyone age 18 and under and/or any HCPSS student, regardless of age, at locations countywide. Meals are available from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., weekdays. Participants will be given a snack, lunch and dinner for that day, as well as a breakfast for the following day, and are encouraged to bring a bag to carry home meals each day. Friday distributions at school locations also will include weekend meals. Parents have the option of collecting meals for their children, who do not need to be present.
There will be no meal service April 10 or 13; meals for those days will be distributed Thursday, April 9, with instructions for storage and preparation.
Services from our School Counselor
Beginning Tuesday, April 14, Mrs. Schuck will have office hours every week day from 9:30am-11:30am and then from 12:00pm-1:00pm. You can schedule an appointment by emailing her directly. Her contact information is firstname.lastname@example.org
Continuity of Learning
We are continuing in Phase 2 of the Continuity of Learning Plan. To bridge the gap before Phase 3 distance learning begins, a set of resources is posted to the HCPSS Continuity of Learning website. These resources are organized by grade and/or course. Multiple languages are available. These additional materials will not be collected or graded. Phase 3 begins for elementary schools on April 20th.
Supporting Learning at Home
A new resource to help students and parents adjust to continuing learning from home is provided on the HCPSS Continuity of Learning website. Suggestions are provided for establishing a schedule, creating an environment conducive to learning, and transitioning to distance learning.

Ms. Nowell and I hope all our families are safe and healthy!
In addition to the Coronavirus, seasonal allergies are also a medical concern. It is often hard to distinguish the reason for common symptoms. Medical advice is best at this time.
Please seek medical attention should anyone in your home develops fever, cough, difficulty breathing, headache or nausea.
If you need help finding medical care resources please email me at email@example.com
Asthma can worsen with coronavirus. Please read the attached information if you or a loved one has asthma. This is a fact sheet from the Allergy and Asthma Network. Information changes frequently and one update to this fact sheet is that asthma inhalers may be in high demand. Please make sure you have an adequate supply by contacting your doctor and /or pharmacy.
