Welcome back to FRES!
It was wonderful to see so many students and parents at our Open House and Orientations today. As we prepare to begin what is sure to be another amazing year at Forest Ridge Elementary School, we wanted to take a moment to update you on some reminders. It has been our pleasure to have the opportunity to greet so many of you over the last couple of weeks. We hope you are as relaxed, recharged, and as ready to start a new school year as the staff is here at FRES. We are so delighted that you are part of our amazing learning community, and we welcome and value your positive energy. We look forward to another amazing year with you and your children!
Important Dates
Picture Day
Picture Day is Tuesday, September 10. An information flyer will be coming home next week. Picture money envelopes will come home on Monday, September 9.
Family File:
We are now up to 76% of our families who have completed their Family File. Families who have updated their student’s Emergency Card via the Family File on the HCPSS Connect are now able to log into their student’s Family File to view their student’s homeroom assignment. If you have not completed your Family File, please visit:https://www.hcpss.org/connect/.
Arrival:
The front doors will open at 8:55 AM daily for students who need breakfast. At that time, students are welcome to proceed to the cafeteria for breakfast. Students who ride the bus will begin arriving between 9:00 - 9:15AM, and may also head to the cafeteria for breakfast. Please Note: There is a cost for breakfast for students who do not receive Free and Reduced Meals (FARM’s). The cost of this meal will be charged to your student’s lunch account.
It is highly encouraged that all students ride their assigned bus to school on Tuesday so that they are given the correct bus tag.
Dismissal:
We will be changing the order of our afternoon dismissal to help things become more efficient. Here is the new timing of our dismissal:
3:38 - Kindergarten - Aftercare, Walkers, and Car Riders
3:40 - Car Riders and Aftercare
3:42 - Walkers A & B
3:44 - G4, & G5 Bus Riders
3:46 - G1, 2, & 3 Bus Riders
3:48 - K Bus Riders
